Overview

When, at the age of eleven, Marie Caillaud entered Nohant in the service of George Sand, she did not yet know that she would be called Marie des Poules, the servant who fetched the eggs from the henhouse. She does not know either that she will learn there to read, write, play comedy and interpret 35 plays written by George Sand.
